Lakshadweep - How to get there .....

We went from Kochi/Cochin/Ernakulam. For both flights and ships .. this is the point from where you have to start.

We took the SPORTS Coral Reef package - which includes 2 islands ..... there is another package too .. for 3 islands ... this is the govt route.... can also fly in to Agatti Island ( or from there go via boat to Bangarram ). Felt Bangaram was too expensive and Agatti was not good ROI .... so chose this package .. only 2 islands.
For the Coral Reef - it cost us ~11K per person and little less for the kids. Am including the taxes too. :)

Don't take any ticket that is not inside an AC cabin .. the other things are nothing more than wooden benches .... and close to the ships engines .. just too too hot .... !!! Even the cabins are not great .. and definitely not like the cruises abroad :)

Monsoons are not the time to go to these islands ....

For booking we called the SPORTS ofice , blocked the tickets and then sent snail mail with the DD inside for the entire amount .....

They send a receipt. We have to collect the boarding passes on the day of boarding the ship .... they give the permit also which is required to go to these islands ...

Ensure you do scuba diving ( this is an epiphanic experience !!! ). And no .. you don't need to know swimming for this ... do this off all islands ... the corals are stunning to say the least ! :)

Ofcourse - kayaking, boating, snorkelling , glass boat ride and just lazing on the beach is also to be done ! :) All except scuba diving is free ... another thing that we felt was good in this package ...
